I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a member in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.  I obtained a Bachelor of Scienc  e and Master of Education degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle.

My background includes over 20 years of working with children, youth, and families as a teacher, administrator, and elementary counsellor in the public school system before I became a Registered Clinical Counsellor.  This experience has grounded my belief that all clients have the strengths and ability to make positive changes in their lives. I have worked extensively with families, couples, and individuals dealing with disabilities, depression, anxiety, acculturation, divorce, life transitions, trauma, and sexual orientation.

I practice a client-centred approach to therapy.  This means that you, the client, ultimately decide the outcome, goals, and direction of the therapy.  After my Master’s program, I have sought additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Hypnosis, Narrative Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. The techniques we ultimately choose will be based on your strengths, needs, and goals.

Please contact me with your questions or to discuss how we might work together to make the changes to help get where you want to be.
